Pleasure to Meet You
I'm Shannon
My gift is that nothing surprises me, and I’m committed to helping you explore creative solutions to move forward. In our coaching process, I’ll work with you to identify new approaches that can help break the patterns that have been keeping both you and your young adult stuck. With the right tools and mindset, the shifts we make together will not only support your young adult's growth—they will also transform how you approach parenting and life.
A big part of what I do is helping parents recognize that the way we respond to our children directly influences how they show up in the world. When you shift your perspective and approach, your kids will notice—and often, that’s the spark that helps them shift as well. When you change, they change! I’ll help you challenge habitual reactions and focus on what you can control, allowing you to stop getting caught in cycles of frustration and worry.
One of my core beliefs is that it’s possible to be happy even when our kids are not. This isn’t about abandoning them or withdrawing—it’s about building the emotional resilience and capacity to hold space for their struggles while still taking care of yourself. This skill takes practice, but when you can cultivate it, you put yourself in a position to be the support your young adult needs while also giving them room to navigate their own path toward happiness. Together, we’ll work on breaking the cycle, creating healthier dynamics, and helping your family move toward a place of peace and progress.

Why My Clients Love Working With Me
“An Invaluable Resource…”
“ Shannon has been an invaluable resource for me in giving excellent parenting advice for handling tricky situations with my young adult children. She offers such wise counsel coming from her years of experience working with young adults. She gets them. Equally important she gets parenting; she is a mom too. Specifically, I’ve needed help creating plans that laid-out what I’m responsible for and why my adult child is responsible for, in a concrete structure that is fair, logical, respectful and which my child and I can both agree. Shannon is able to give me real-life help in untangling codependency issues so we can have a parent/child formula that works. Shannon is a great lifeline for me to have.”

“Shannon focuses on us...”
“ When we first learned that the college transition program for neurodiverse young adults our son was going to attend would provide us with a parent coach, we were very skeptical. We had already worked with all kinds of specialists to help our son be his best, and we felt the program would provide our son with what he needs to further grow and develop.
But the program our son is attending is focused on our son. Shannon focuses on us, our relationship with our son, and how to be the best parents we can be for him. Shannon helps us take some of the emotion out of our conversations with our son and communicate more effectively with him. Our coaching with Shannon has been very valuable and we recommend her to other parents with great confidence.
